AZO CLINIC • ACCESSIBILITY BEST PRACTICE

Accessibility Statement

WCAG 2.1 AA & AAA Principles • Digital Best Practice • Last assessment: October 2026

1. Our approach and best practice

SIA "AZO Klīnika" as a modern and patient-centered private medical clinic, considers digital accessibility a fundamental principle of social responsibility and patient care.

Our goal is to provide every patient — including seniors and individuals with visual or mobility impairments — with convenient, clear, and dignified access to information about clinic doctors, services, pricing, and appointment booking. Therefore, our work is guided by international digital accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1 AA and AAA core principles).

This best-practice accessibility statement applies to the website: https://azoklinika.lv/ (including its multilingual sections in Latvian, English, Russian, and Ukrainian).

2. Accessibility standard and transparency

Digital accessibility standard: The website is developed in compliance with WCAG 2.1 Level AA requirements and incorporates select WCAG Level AAA enhancements (specialized high-contrast clinical mode, rem-based text scaling up to 150%, and semantic HTML5 code).

To ensure complete transparency toward our patients, below we outline specific technological solutions where we actively provide continuous enhancements and accessible alternatives:

1. Third-party interactive maps (Google Maps)

The website embeds a Google Maps map for convenient route planning. As third-party map technologies are not fully controlled by our codebase, all essential information (exact clinic address, public transport arrival directions, and parking notes) is fully duplicated and available in plain text format.

2. Downloadable documents (PDF files)

Clinic forms and informative materials are continuously being adapted for screen reader technologies. If any document is not fully accessible to you, our reception will immediately provide its content in an accessible text format or verbally over the phone upon request.

3. External online appointment booking and partner services

When utilizing external patient online booking platforms, their user interface is maintained by the service partners. AZO Clinic concurrently provides the full ability to book appointments via phone or email without requiring the use of external widgets.

3. Accessibility tools on the website

The AZO Clinic website integrates the following dynamic and technical accessibility features:

🔠 Dynamic text scaling

Ability to scale up text to 125% and 150% without compromising layout stability or causing horizontal scrolling.

◐ High contrast (WCAG AAA)

Switchable clinical high-contrast monochrome mode with sharp borders, underlined hyperlinks, and vivid yellow focus outlines.

⌨️ Keyboard navigation & Skip-Link

Quick "Skip to content" shortcut on the first Tab key press, zero keyboard traps, and a distinct 3px focus outline.

📱 Mobile touch accessibility

All tools easily accessible via the header "Aa" dropdown and mobile menu drawer with comfortable minimum 44px tap targets.

4. Contact and patient support

We continuously strive to improve patient experience both at our clinic and across our digital channels. If you experience difficulties accessing any section of the website, require information in an alternative format, or have suggestions for improvements, please contact our reception:

The clinic team will review your feedback or inquiry and respond within 1–2 business days.

5. Feedback and continuous improvement

AZO Clinic values patient feedback and supports the principles of universal design and inclusive society in Latvia. We regularly perform technical audits of the website to ensure full alignment with modern patient safety and digital accessibility standards.
